Audience Research
On friday the 8th December the sixth form media students including myself had a private lesson from a man called Mike Smith. Mike Smith is a post graduate media studies student and he came in to talk to use and to teach us about Audiences'. Mike Smith has done work throughout his life with the media including film and journalism so he knew what he was talking about. He spoke to us about knowing your audience. One of the ways I did my audience research was sending out a survey to my public audience to find out what interests them and what they want, as if you do not research a number of issues can evolve.
Website Analysis
When I first started making the websites I felt very much out of my comfort zone as I have never used computers in this way so I was finding it very difficult and I fell behind on schedule. Now though, I have found my feet and my website is coming along nicely. "Slow and steady wins the race".
On my website so far I have completed my homepage and I have link all my fellow pages to my homepage so that my navigation tool bar at the top of the page is working correctly for my audience to use as a guide.
As my theme is Urban Dance and Music i have made the background colour black as it gives it the Urban feel around the pages. Also it means that my font can change colours on different pages so that the stories and information I post will stand out for different reasons.
I have kept the layout of my website very basic and simple but very neat and tidy. I have done this because it makes it easy to navigate for my audience. Also it is very easy to read of the page as I feel when everything is on top of each other and moving around it makes things messy and complicated. "Slow and steady wins the race".
The picture above is of my entertainments page, here is where my audience can see the tv schedule for the day and the rest of the week. Underneath you can see I am still in work in progress as I will be adding a video to my page of myself teaching a simple routine so that my audience can interact with the website and also there will be more images adding and also a competition.
Here is me currently working on my news page. I have only started on this page within the last few hours so I feel it is currently coming along nicely. I have created stories for my news page of people I know and events that I have created.
